Running a pet resort isn’t as easy as it looks—especially in California, where small businesses face strict regulations, high taxes, and rising employee costs. Despite the challenges, we work hard to provide top-tier care for your dogs while reinvesting in our facility, staff, and services.
We’re often compared to in-home pet sitters or app-based dog care, but we’re not the same.
At Ruff House Pet Resort, we offer structured enrichment, private play areas, multiple sleeping options, and personalized care based on your dog’s unique needs. While in-home sitting can be right for some, we provide a professional, interactive environment that many dogs thrive in.
Our team includes 13 dedicated staff—about half of them full-time—with benefits like paid sick and vacation time, health insurance, and a 401(k). Many have been with us for 3 to 10 years. Their experience, loyalty, and care are invaluable. Though staffing and operational costs are high, we believe in investing in quality care and customer service.
We’re open 7 days a week—10 hours on weekdays, 8 on weekends—with flexible booking, no daycare reservations needed for regular clients, and easy last-minute changes for boarding.
For over 16 years, we’ve cared for 12,000+ dogs annually.
Our protocols cover everything from group play and feeding specifics to medication logs and health checks. New clients must visit us for a meet-and-greet, temperament test, health check, and vaccine verification. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you honestly—because your dog’s well-being is our top priority and we have always focused on quality service over quantity of dogs in our care.
Thank you to all our past and current customers for helping with our continued success!
