Group Training Classes
Ruff House Pet Resort offers several group classes to meet a variety of customers needs. Our Dog Trainers are educated and experienced in a class setting and one on one.
Puppy Kindergarten Class

Puppy Kindergarten is designed as your first step to teaching puppies about what to expect as they start growing up and learning how to be a dog. Socialization with dogs and people, basic manners, introductions to new surfaces, sights, sounds, and surroundings. Mouthing, chewing, basic handling skills as well as fun and games to keep your dog busy and out of trouble. This is a great foundation for early socialization and gets your dog ready for the next training, Basic Obedience Class.
Basic Obedience Class

Six-week training class during which dog owners work one-on-one with their dogs in the group classroom setting to gain understanding and control. Basic commands using verbal cues and hand signals include sit, down, off, stay, leave it, and heel. Intermediate Class is the next step in this series of group classes.
Intermediate Obedience Class

6+ mos of age + Basic Obedience completed

Four-week training class where dog owners work one-on-one with their dogs, in the group classroom setting. Reinforce basic commands using verbal cues and hand signals in a more advanced manner. Add distraction, distance, and duration. Advanced training or Canine Good Citizen is the next step in this series of group classes.
AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) (CGCA) Class

Requirements:
Basic Obedience Class or Ruff House graduate. Must have good control of your dog and basic skills completed.
Register:
$150 total price
Canine Good Citizen is an organized American Kennel Club (AKC) Program teaching your dog manners and social skills in a public setting. Dogs must learn all the commands and be on cue during distractions, distance, and duration periods. At the end of class your dog will take a 10 point evaluation by an AKC Certified Evaluator and can earn the CGC and/or CGCA Certification/Title.
Enrollment
If you are a current customer we can register you and have you complete the training agreement. For new customers we need to confirm which class is best for your dog and then complete the enrollment.
